For the past 8 years Lauren Navarro has worked in integrated marketing and design. Lauren attended Pratt Institute where she studied Digital Art and moved on to work in graphic design and branding at boutique firms and advertising industries throughout New York and Miami. As she continued to develop her practice in digital, print, and social media, she expanded into building marketing strategies for globally renown consumer brands in the beverage and fast food industry.
Meg
Customer Success Specialist
Meaghan Quigley has spent the past 8 years working in research, training, and customer success. As a Customer Success Specialist for Momus Analytics, she builds strong relationships with clients, manages training sessions, and provides guidance in successfully using the software during trial.
Meg worked in law enforcement for 5 years before transitioning to the tech industry. She joined the team in 2019 and holds a BS in Sociology and Political Science from Florida State University.
Jorge
Chief Technology Officer
Jorge Fonte—a proud graduate of the University of Miami—has over 20 years’ experience in network administration and over 10 years’ experience in system administration and system programming. His experience encompasses both private and public sector from small businesses to large, multi-county and statewide operations.
As a member of The Alvarez Law, P.A., Jorge maintains the technology infrastructure of the firm and is a key member of the trial team. As a trial support specialist, Jorge ensures that his team has remote, mobile access to their network and provides audio-visual capabilities in the courtroom for use by the team, court, and jury. As a member of Momus, Jorge oversees the development and maintenance of the Momus Analytics platform and infrastructure.
Jorge was a Distributed Computer Systems Consultant and System Programmer for over 15 years in the statewide Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Jorge was assigned to the largest FDLE Regional Operation Center in Florida which provided law enforcement services from Key West to West Palm Beach. As part of his duties, Jorge not only maintained the day-to-day information technology infrastructure, but he was also a key member in deploying mobile control units both for specialized operations and in emergency response. In 2003, Jorge was a part of the server migration team which spanned the entirety of FDLE throughout all of Florida.
Jorge also has over 7 years’ experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems in small to medium law offices. This expertise includes navigating the complexities of ever-evolving technology and security requirements integral to the practice of law and management of client expectation and goals.
Jorge strives to guarantee that his team has access to the latest technology available to promote efficiency both inside and outside of the courtroom and ensuring that technology serves as an integral tool in realizing clients’ goals.
Marcela
Director of Customer Success
Marcela Navarro has spent the past 8 years working with clients in the marketing and technology space. As the Director of Customer Success for Momus Analytics, she provides clients with strategic guidance on the technology and helps clients derive maximum value in preparation for jury selection.
Before Momus Analytics, Marcela worked in Customer Success at Percolate where she contributed to building a success methodology that resulted in helping clients achieve their strategic goals and driving additional revenue for their customers. Prior to Percolate, she worked across various advertising agencies focused on developing social and digital strategies. Marcela graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs from Florida State University, and also has a Master’s in Corporate Communication from IE Business School.
Xavi
Co-founder & CFO
Xavi Navarro has spent the past 13 years working across finance, tech and the legal space. Xavi is the Co-Founder and CFO at Momus Analytics focused on executing the company vision. For the last 3 years, Xavi has also worked with The Alvarez Law Firm as a jury consultant using the Momus Methodology. Prior to Momus Analytics, Xavi worked in a variety of roles within the local start up community in Miami serving as the Director of Business Development at Entic, Board of Directors at Stardom Up, and a member of the Miami Innovation Fund. Xavi also spent time in New York City in IBM’s Wall Street Unit focused on technology sales to large investment banks, retail brokerage firms, asset managers, and commercial insurance. Before IBM, Xavi also worked in the retail brokerage units of Citigroup’s Smith Barney and Wachovia Securities (now Wells Fargo).
Xavi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Florida with minors in Mass Communication and Entrepreneurship. He also has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and is currently working towards completing his Juris Doctorate from Florida International University.
Alex
Founder & CEO
Alex Alvarez is a board certified civil trial lawyer in Coral Gables, Florida and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He practices almost exclusively Tobacco Litigation. He tried the first Engle progeny tobacco case in the State of Florida and has since tried over 40 Engle progeny tobacco cases to verdict. He also maintains a national tobacco litigation and jury selection and consulting practice. He has obtained over $500 million in verdicts and another $400 million in jury consulting.
Alex Alvarez has been recognized for his contributions to the profession including: 2016 Centurion Award, Florida Justice Association, 2013 Finalist “Most Effective Product Liability Lawyer”; 2010 Finalist “Most Effective Product Liability Lawyer” 2009 Winner “Most Effective Product Liability Lawyer” 2001 Daily Business Review, Top 10 Jury Verdicts in Miami-Dade, 2000 Daily Business Review, Top 10 Jury Verdicts in Miami-Dade 1999 Daily Business Review, Top 10 Jury Verdicts in Miami-Dade.
This is his second career. At the age of 19, he was accepted to the police academy and after graduation he quickly achieved the rank of detective — one of youngest in the Miami-Dade Police Department. He was assigned to the elite homicide Centac-26 unit that was formed to combat the epidemic drug-related murders committed by the Cocaine Cowboys of the 1980s. He gained international recognition by leading the investigation in the infamous “Miami River Cops Case,” one of the biggest police corruption cases in US history, resulting in the arrest and conviction of 18 Miami police officers.
Alex spent the next 2 years assisting prosecutors in the subsequent trials. The exposure inspired an interest in the courtroom, so while continuing as a detective he attended and graduated cum laude from St-Thomas University with a BS in Criminal Justice, Cum Laude and subsequently earned his law degree from the University of Miami Law School. He was selected by the faculty to be included in a national and prestigious, Order of the Barrister.
