The software is a tool that can assist plaintiff trial lawyers during the Voir Dire and jury selection process. It is not meant, nor should it be used, to override the attorney’s judgment during any part of the selection process.
The software uses an algorithm to rate and then rank every juror. That algorithm does not take into account race, gender, religion, or country of origin, or any other constitutionally protected classes for any part of the rating or ranking. Attorneys must use their own judgment when exercising cause or peremptory challenges on any juror. This includes satisfying Batson challenges (that the strike was based on a juror's protected status) and any other requirements in your state. The software’s rating is not intended to, and should never be used as, a basis to overcome a Batson challenge.
